A Day At The Zoo

These pictures were taken at the 'Tiger Cub Day at the Zoo', which was held at Como Zoo located in St. Paul, MN. Elijah joined Cub Scouts this year, and since he is in first grade he is a Tiger Cub. He is really enjoying it, plus it's a great way for me to spend one on one time with him. It's a win win situation.

I'm not sure you can tell or not, but the day started out cloudy and then slowly moved into rain. Of course the rain started getting worse when we were supposed to sit and watch the seal show. The rain didn't bother us too much, at least not enough to ruin the day for us. Como has a wide range of animals, and seem to be well taken care of.

Eli was assigned to research one animal while he was there, and he was to fill out a fact sheet on that animal. Being his father's son, he picked the Tortoise! How cool is that. Como Zoo has two huge tortoises. It was neat learning about them and watching the zoo trainers working with them. Elijah was pretty excited.
